You need about 5 1/2 minutes for this one. I thought I'd do a video montage of the girls' life thus far. As you can imagine, many tears were shed makin this. Click on the picture below & make sure your volume is up. Thanks for watchin. ;-)

Sara & Siena's 6 month birthday

Monday, October 27, 2008

We've had a big past couple weeks. Well, big for a household with 2 babies. Sara got her 2 bottom teeth! Funny cuz she got them exactly 1 day after I got mine. She also has been blowing raspberries. Not cute when she does it after I've given her pureed squash! lol She's also an official thumb sucker. It's cute how she curls her fingers around her nose. She'll no longer take a pacifier (Yeah!) & can sooth herself (almost all the time!) Although she has her moments, our Sara the Siren is a really good baby.

Siena- she's finally rolling over, but different from her sister & going from her stomach to her back (probably cuz she always hated being on her belly!) She's getting stronger every day & it's so great to see. We're now only going to Physical Therapy every other week & I'm excited for her to graduate. :-) She's a big smiler & giggles when I tickle her & chew on her chubby thighs. She has such a sweet sense about her. And I adore looking into her gorgeous eyes. (You should see her lashes!)

I cannot believe they'll be 6 months old on Wed!!! (I can't wait to see how much my little Chunky Monkeys weigh!!) More then. Here's a some pics:

Sara- My Dad & bro are lovin her in her tee (even tho they choked in the playoffs)

Grandma fixed up her mohawk.

Siena- Here's Grandma playin dress-up again. Below pic too.

I've also been meaning to attach some short videos. Who doesn't love a baby giggling? Times 2! (Sara's the 1st one.)

"More Vegetables, Please"

Words my husband will never say. haha We started the girls on REAL food last weekend. :-) Not surprisingly.... they gobble up every bit. We started them on squash, now yams & carrots are next. I'm praying these girls continue to be good eaters. It's a little difficult (and a bit annoying) to enjoy cooking but have a picky husband!!! (I love ya Baby, but it's true!) And what I'm most proud of? I'm making their baby food myself. I figure it's better for them, it's cheaper & it really doesn't take that much time. (Well, they're only eating ice cube sized amounts right now, so we'll see how long it lasts. haha) It takes me about 45 minutes to feed them by myself, which is a little frustrating but I'm having fun giving it to them. Here's the pics:

Sara

Siena

Jeff's Dad came down on Saturday. He hadn't seen them since they were 2 weeks old, so they've definitely changed! lol Him & Jeff went to breakfast (their fav- The Pancake House) and he also helped us with a few things around the house. He is soooo handy, it's impressive!

I love how their feet are touching. :-)

We also went to a really fun wedding on Sunday. It was one of Jeff's buddies from Lennar & we had a great time even though we only knew 4 people. And last but not least........ we have our room back!!!!! We finally moved the girls into their own room! We'd been so worried how it was gonna go. It was so easy to just lean over when they fussed that we wondered how many times we were gonna have to get up & go down the hall. I'm happy to announce that they've been great! We have a video monitor so we can check on them a bit but also we can turn down the volume!! :-) I love my girls.......

This is how they woke up their 2nd morning. Ahhhhh.

I love this one of Sara. Looks like she's hatching some evil plan. Lol

Siena takes some of the funniest pics. We call her "Eyeballs". (Amongst other nicknames!) Look how blonde her hair looks like it's coming in!! :-0

Happy Birthday Baby!!!

It was Jeff's birthday yesterday so I somehow found the time to make his favorites- lasagna & white cake w/white frosting. (Lucky for me, they're my favorites too!) And the girls' cooperated by eating their dinner & going to bed @ 7:30 so we could enjoy dinner (and wine!!) together. I also had my very talented, sweet friend TK take some pictures for us. Boy, is it hard to get 2 babies to smile, let alone both look at the camera at the same time. Here are the best we got:

I took this one of them in their outfits for Daddy's b-day. I thought the looks on their faces were funny. Sometimes it looks like their eyes, espec. Siena (on the right), are gonna pop outta their heads! lol Don't they look alike here??

And the most exciting news? Our dear friends K&J finally welcomed sweet Baby Eden into the world last Wed., October 1st. Tons of people have been praying for her & we're so glad she's here safe & sound. I was so excited to go to see her and bring her a TON of the girls' old stuff. :-) I couldn't believe how little she seemed & how quickly I forgot that my girls were even smaller! Here she is with her proud Momma & her new friends, Sara & Siena!!

Doesn't it look like my babies belong to her & hers to me?? haha

Happy Birthday to You (& you & you & you!)

Lots of b-days this week. Yesterday we went to 2 parties- 1 yr. olds & a 60 yr. old! lol We first went to Kylee & Kaylyn's. I can't believe I met their Mom, Kyrstyn, on-line when they were only 3 months old & they're already one! I'm so lucky to have such a great friend who knows exactly what I'm going through (before I even go through it)! haha

How Sara spent 1/2 the party. She was sooo cranky (it was embarrasing) so we put her down & she crashed. (Do you think the bear is mocking the way she's sleeping? lol)

Next we went to our cousins & met my bro & parents there too. Jim (the birthday "boy") is my Mom's 1st cousin & we grew up doing lots of things together. Although they really don't live very far, I rarely get to see my cousins & was sooooo happy to be with them. Here we are, all together. :-)

The girls got to try their 1st "food" last week. We gave them rice cereal- it's amazing that they have to figure out how to move it around on their tongues & swallow it. Since Siena's such a little porker (meant with love! ;-) ), we thought she'd goggle it right up, but she couldn't quite figure out what to do with it. It just sat on her tongue & was all over her face (as you can see below.) We've been practicing daily & she seems to be figuring it out. Sara, on the other hand, got it right away & appears to enjoy it. She's constantly trying to grab the spoon from me & keeps opening her mouth for more. I can't wait to try some REAL food later this week- carrots, sweet potatoes & squash! :-) (They'd better be better eaters than their father!!!) Speaking of their Daddy, it's his birthday Wednesday. More to come then........
