20 Years Gone By???

This past week has been such a whirlwind! I'm gonna make this one as quick as possible cuz I'm exhausted & haven't posted in a week. First off, last Thurs. night one of my favorite bands, Standing Hawthorn, performed a reunion performance in honor of the Class of '88. These are guys that graduated the year before us & I used to go see them A LOT during college. Some of the funnest times of my life. I was soooo excited for this night & it did not dissapoint in the slightest. Sooo many people were there- close friends, old friends, etc... Despite is being ridiculously hot & loud, everyone had a GREAT time! Jeff even had fun & he didn't know too many people. Tons of funny stories I don't think I'll ever forget. Far too many pics to post so here's a couple fav's:

I love my friends!!!!

We were serious "groupies" dancing to every song!

"Enerrggyyyy Guide"

Friday night a few of the girls & I got togther to drink wine, reminisce while looking thru old yearbooks & gossip. So much fun. (Did I forget to mention how difficult it was to take care of 2 babies today after getting home @ 2:30am?! And now a sleepover?? Ugh. I'm too old for this...)

Saturday night was my 20 Year Reunion. (Which I still cannot wrap my brain around.) A big group of us met @ BeachFire beforehand for drinks, then off to the reunion. It was a fantastic night. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to see eachother & it was so nice to catch up & get reacquainted. After closing down the Country Club @ about 1am, we then went to some classmates' after-party. About 60 people showed up & the party lasted til after 3. I can honestly say it was an incredible weekend. I'm still smiling. Here's a few pics (again, so many, so don't be offended if you're not in them. ;-) )

I have to give a HUGE thanks to my parents for watching the girls for TWO overnights. I love you both soooo much!!!!

3 Month Pics (Just in Time for Them to be 4 Months!)

I finally got their pics back & I love them!!!

TK challenged her fellow bloggers to share our Family Favorites. Don't know if ours will change weekly but I'll put them as often as I think about it.

Mine- My new digital scrapbook program. I LOVE it! It combines my love for photography, playing on the computer & crafts.

Jeff's- Probably the girls' bouncy seats. Since they both love them (especially Sara) it gives him a bit of time to relax after work.

The Girls- Again- the bouncy seats. They both have figured out how to play with the hanging bird & monkey & Sara loves to put her feet straight up as shown below. It's really cute.

We Are Family!!!

So, this weekend was my Family Reunion. I believe it was the 4th annual & it was the 1st one we were able to go to!! I haven't seen most of my extended family for about 10 years, since my Grandfather's funeral. FAR too long. All the kids played in the pool all day & the adults had a great time catching up. The girls were quite the center of attention.
One of the best parts was that my Grandma finally got to meet S&S. She's 89 years old & S&S are her 19th & 20th great-grandchildren!! For months, she's been showing off their pictures to anyone who will look so she was beyond excited to meet them. Since my cousins passing a few weeks ago, it was nice that the girls could bring smiles to so many. Here are some pics from the weekend:

4 Generations of Women (The best pic we could get- there was always one not cooperating! lol)

Lots of cousins, my Great Uncle Hermie, Dad, etc...

Jake & Josh playing in the pool.

My Great Aunt Lois & Uncle Hermie- we celebrated his 87th b-day & their 65th Anniv.

I caught them "talking". So sweet.

Happy Birthday to Me! Happy Birthday to Me!

I still can't believe I turned 38 last Thursday. And the fact that my 20 Year Reunion is in less than 2 weeks? Boy, do I feel old! haha It was such a great birthday weekend. On Thurs., my Mom watched the girls so I could go to lunch & a movie with my Dad. We went to Thai food & then saw "Mamma Mia". Then, Jeff took me to The Melting Pot for dinner. It was soooo good!

Saturday was our annual Day @ the Races in Del Mar. Think it was the 8th Annual! Wow! Unfortunately, I planned it kinda late this year so not a lot of people could make it, but we still had such a great time. Since my parents always go, I just couldn't let them miss it cuz they had to watch the girls, so our Night Nanny Joan came to the rescue. She hadn't seen them in over a month & couldn't believe how big they'd gotten. Besides my parents, no one else has really watched them for a long period of time. It's a lot of work taking care of 2 babies, so it's A LOT to ask of people besides family. We love that she's also a nurse & it's obvious she cares a lot about them.

On Sunday, we celebrated mine & my bro's b-days @ our parents. His is the day after mine! :) Happy Birthday Scott!! Here's a pic we finally got off the 4 grandkids. (Good luck getting 4 kids to all look @ the same camera & get the perfect pic!)

On a side Olympic note..... GO USA!!!! :-)

Wine Away.....

Thanks to my Mom & Dad, Jeff & I had a MUCH needed getaway. Jeff starts his new job on Tuesday & the obvious: twinfants!! haha Although we were only gone for about 30 hrs., it definitely rejuvinated each of us (and our relationship.) We decided to do one of our favorite things... wine tasting!! We went up to the Santa Ynez region & despite it being somewhat dry & hot, it's always gorgeous up there. We hit a couple wineries in Solvang (LOVED Stolpman!), a few more way out in the boonies & then went to downtown Los Olivos. Jeff got to do a beer tasting so that was different & fun.

We had a great dinner recommendation for Italian but we were both in the mood for a steak so we went to the 'ol favorite, The Hitching Post. It was sooooo good & relaxing too. (Nice to not feel the need to rush to get back to babysitters.) We decided against going to the casino & opted for going to bed @ 10 & woke up @ 8:30! Funny how things change. We had such a great time but also missed the girls like crazy. Here's a couple pics:
