I cannot believe we get to meet our girls tomorrow!!

It's beyond surreal. 2 1/2 years of trying conceive, cancer, InVitro and 3 1/2 months of bedrest & it's tomorrow???? Wow. I feel so blessed despite the tough times. I have the most incredible support system of family and friends & don't know how we could have gotten through all this without you. I have to give a special thanks to my Mom who has done soooo much for me/us- support, love, lunch/movies, bringing dinner, laundry- the list is endless. And my hubby?? I can't even put into words how grateful I am for his love and support. This has only strengthened our already strong marriage & I cannot wait to see him as a Daddy!

Here's the latest pic my Mom took of my belly. I was 36 weeks & 3 days- 5 days ago. I still cannot believe we made it full-term. :) Good job my little Twincesses!!

Pics of the girls to follow later this week.......

Less than 8 days.......

Wow, that's crazy to say!! Had a great appt with our Specialist today. She explained more clearly as to why we needed to re-schedule for Tues. the 29th. Since they're not considered full-term til Mon., they'd be classified as preemies and since they're doing so well, there's no reason to have them be considered this. (Okay, okay, I agree. ;) ) The Girls also got measured again for the 1st time in 4 weeks. They measure their head, their femur & their stomach. The computer then takes these figures and estimates a weight. Of course, there's quite the margin for error but Baby A (our peanut) measured approx. 4 lbs. 13 oz. so the Dr. said to figure about 4 1/2 lbs. Baby B came in @ 5 lbs. 4 oz. so figure about 5 lbs. She said hopefully by next Tues. they'll be about 5 & 5 1/2 lbs. (I'm hopin the 2 donuts 4 b-fast & pizza 4 lunch today will help!) With everything else she looked at, she said they appear to be very healthy little girls. YEAH!!

What's also great about the 29th is that it's J's Dad's Birthday that day! We know he'd love to share that special day with his granddaughters. :) Can't wait to let you all know that they've arrived safe & sound. Please continue to keep us in your thoughts & prayers. (I'm starting to get very nervous about surgery/recovery/taking care of 2 infants.) J or my Mom will send out an e.m. to everyone asap, with pics soon to follow. XOXO

The Roller Coaster Continues.....

Got a call today from my OB & apparently my Specialist wants to delay my surgery til the following week. She sees no reason to schedule me before 37 weeks (even tho it was just 3 days) and wants to go by "the book". My OB doesn't really think it's necessary but said OK. So, nothing's available til Tues. the 29th. :( Of course I want to do what is best for the girls, it's just a little disappointing. We had it all set & were so excited for next Friday. Not to mention how uncomfortable I am- typical late pregnancy woes plus lots of painful contractions so another 4 days sounds like torture. So, a little bummed tonight but know this will soon be a distant memory and the girls will be home safe and sound..... :)

But who knows?! They could have something else in mind & want to meet us sooner than that!! ;)

No changes!!

Despite all the crazy contractions, I'm still not dilated. :) My OB thinks they're gonna stay put til our scheduled surgery next Fri. Yeah!!!! I'm such a wimp (and such a planner) that I love the thought of having it all planned out and not have to experience any labor! haha Plus, this way, I won't have my worry wart (but sweet) hubby all up in a panic thinking the babies are gonna fall out on the 5 min. drive to the hospital!! ;) So, of course anything can happen, but I hope they keep cookin. Amazing after all we've been through, if they make it to almost 37 weeks!!

I have another big appt. Mon. with our specialist that I'm very excited for cuz she'll measure them & we'll see approx. how much they're gonna weigh. (We'll see how the Ben & Jerry's is workin! lol Mom, thanks again for the Creme Brulee one. YUM!) I'll update Mon. after my appt. ;)

Will April 25th be the Big Day??

Had a great appt. this am. My cervix is still closed so they're stayin put for now. Of course, things can changed quickly but my OB scheduled my C-Section for the 25th! Oh my gosh- that's 16 days from now! :0 Glad their little lungs can continue to get stronger and I have a little more time to fatten them up. The one & only time in my life I'm TOLD to gain weight, so I've been having fun! haha I'm hoping to get them around 5 1/2 lbs. ea.

I'm really concentrating on enjoying these last weeks of being pregnant since I'll never experience this again. They're both super active so it's amazing to feel them move around- I think the BEST part about being pregnant (besides now eating whatever I want. hee hee). Recently, I've been feeling what seems like a foot and hand moving around, which is soooo cool imagining them inside. And Baby B's been getting the hiccups the past couple weeks (probably going right along with the heartburn I'm getting! lol) More later.....

The countdown is on...

Sometime in the next 3 weeks, we'll finally get to meet our little Twinkies!! :) We made it to our biggest goal, 34 weeks. I'm so proud of my girls- we already make a good team. I really can't believe it- it felt like this day would never come, but here we are! As of today, I now only have to take my meds on an as-needed basis (5+ contractions in an hr.) and I'm pretty much off bed-rest too! As always, I just need to take it easy & listen to my body. So, I'm now gonna really try to enjoy these last days of sleeping in & quiet around here. lol

Also, our dear friends KT & Jeff got married in Maui on Sat! We're so happy for them and can't wait to hear all about it & see pics. Congrats you two & have a Lava Flow for me!!

And to all my Aries birthday girls..... Happy Birthday to KC, JH & EG!! Hope you all had great days!! Love you!!

Back on bedrest already?? Ugh.

Well, at least I got 9 days of partial freedom! ;) At my last OB appt., the Dr. saw that I've started to efface (the very beginnings of labor). She wants to make sure I get to at least 34 weeks (Mon.) so back to the Lazy Boy! Anything can happen- I could stay this way for weeks or I could go into labor at any moment. If I were to go into labor now, she would try to stop it so she could give us steroids to help hurry & strengthen their lungs. After next week, she feels everything will be fine & she'll just let me have them. So, keep us in your thoughts & pray we make it through the weekend. The last thing I want is more meds and I'd hate for them to have to be in the NICU. So, I'm prayin the little Twinkies stay put for another 2 weeks! :)
