Happy 3 Month Birthday, Sweet Babies!!

So, even tho they didn't have to go to their Pedi today, I took them anyway. I wanted to check their weights & chat with their Dr. a bit. I've been a little concerned with Siena's head & wanted to see just how concerned she was. Siena completely favors turning her head to the left. This has created quite the flat head. No matter how many times we move it, she'll turn it right back. If it doesn't get resolved, she could end up having to wear a helmut. The thought breaks my heart. This sweet girl has already been thru way too much so I asked the Dr. what we could do to prevent that. She referred us to a Pediatric Therapy Dr. where they'll look her over & teach us some exercises we can do with her. So hopefully we can take care of this early enough that it won't be a problem. Besides that, their Dr. was thrilled with how well they're doing. I absolutely LOVE these pics of the week:

My Chunky Monkey Siena now 11 lbs. 14 oz. & 22" long

Sara now 11 lbs. 13 oz. & 22 3/4" long

Besides the girls, we had a nice weekend. Janet & had a fabulous time at the spa. (Jeff gave me a gift card after I had S&S). We would have stayed there a lot longer relaxing & enjoying the sauna, etc. but we wanted to go grab a couple glasses of wine instead! lol Then, on Sunday, we had a really nice dinner with the K's & C's. (It's so sad that our world has become so scary that I have to use initials with some. :-( )

Busy but Fun Weekend!!

Friday night SS & I crashed Michelle & Joe's pre-reunion party for our rival high school. (Okay, I didn't crash it. I was allowed to go if I brought my famous meatballs.) We had so much fun. They sure know how to throw a party.... 2 bartenders, tons of food, 4 flowin taps and about 60+ people. Not to mention DJ Jazzy Joe playin the tunes. Only bad part of the night? I got my 1st flat tire on my way home @ 2am. Thank God I was just around the corner from their house. Jeff didn't think it was good timing that 3 mos before I get a new car that I got to drive Joe's awesome BMW! lol

The only Diablo's allowed.

Saturday Aunt Cherie & Uncle Keith came down for the day. Keith hadn't met his nieces yet & he was such a natural with them. Big bald Uncle Keith didn't scare them at all! haha After visiting for a while, we dropped S&S off @ my parents so we could go out to dinner. We went down to the San Clemente pier for a drink before going to yummy El Ranchito.

On Sunday we celebrated my Dad & Josh's 6th Birthday. We had BBQ'd filets, corn, sauteed mushrooms & then had yummy Grasshopper Pie & newly found ice cream cupcakes!! We sat outside on a gorgeous night & opened presents. Unfortunately, Josh wasn't feeling very well, but I'm sure once he does, he'll love his presents! As always, we all had a great time.

Love this picture of Mom & Siena!

Jake calls both of the girls "Sweetie". Too cute.

Our Family is now Employed!!!!

Jeff got a job!!!! Whoo Hoo!! He's been officially layed off since November but, fortunately, thanks to Contract jobs, he's really only been out of work about 4 weeks. His new employer sounds like a great company with great benefits. My particular favorite benefit? A yearly trip to Cabo!!!! hee hee We're both so happy & relieved. I'm sure Jeff is moreso- not knowing if he can provide for me alone is one thing (I like to shop. haha) but now having TWO more females to provide for?? ;) I'm so proud of him.

The girls tried out their new toy/chair today that Kyrstyn passed down to us. Their heads are still pretty wobbly (especially Siena's) but they both sat it in good! Makes me happy- one more thing to keep them entertained so Mommy can do laundry, clean bottles, etc...

What a Tough Weekend....

First off, Happy Heavenly 1st Birthday to Baby JJ. The memorial service was so special & the words that K&J wrote were absolutely beautiful. The picnic afterwards was such a nice get together for all of their family and friends. We cannot wait for Baby Girl E to arrive safely in September & help heal her Mommy & Daddy's hearts. You're such great friends & we love you guys so much.

Secondly, my cousin Dan passed away Sunday morning. He was a young 52. He had been waiting for a liver transplant for some time & his kidneys stopped functioning last week. I'm so very sorry to his wife for losing her 2nd husband, his children for losing their father, to my grandmother for losing her 1st grandchild and especially to my dear Aunt Audrey for losing her 1st born. Wishing you all peace in knowing he's no longer in pain and in heaven. Dan, your Spaghetti Head will miss you. ;-)

This made me smile during this sad time.

Smiles, Everyone, Smiles

Just in the last couple weeks Siena has started smiling. A lot. It's adorable. You can already tell she's gonna be the one to laugh first & I can't wait. Serious Sara smiles a little less often & doesn't really look right at you, but I actually caught her doing it. I'm so excited for what's to come......

I also have to give a shout out to my parents. As of today, they've been together for FIFTY YEARS!!! My Mom was 16 years old, my Dad 17. He took her to the fair on their first date. So sweet. They're leaving tomorrow for a little vacation up to Santa Barbara & Cambria (with a stop to visit my Grandma on the way). I'm so lucky to have parents that are still so in love & have so much fun together.

6 Days and Counting....

Ever since the Nutritionist gave us the green light to let the girls start sleeping more @ night, they've gone between 6 & 7 hrs. straight all 6 nights!! (Knock on wood.) Boy, does this make us happy. We're even having to wake Sara! Although she's still a little bit Grumpy during the day, I'll take it if she continues to sleep so well @ night! lol It's surprising that Siena doesn't wake a lot earlier cuz she always wants to eat! hee hee She's also one noisy little roommate. She grunts, coos, hiccups, whines, you name it! It would be kinda funny if it wasn't 5:00 am!! ;-)

Siena & Sara- They really look like twins here!!

Watching Daddy hang out with his girls from upstairs

I'm really looking forward to Friday night. We're having a Pre-Reunion Happy Hour get-together. I'm hoping more people show up than my girlfriends I already see all the time! HAHA No offense girls. ;-) Scott & the boys are gonna come watch the girls til Jeff gets home from work. I'm sure Jake is excited to see them & how they've grown since he saw them a few weeks ago.

7 Years Already???

7 years ago today was the beginning of my exciting future. This was the day that Jeff first kissed me & we've together ever since. 7 years later- tons of great times, some difficult ones, lotsa love & things are better than ever. We had such a fun day celebrating.

We first dropped off the girls @ my parents. Jeff was thrilled to be able to go to the 'Pancake House' for breakfast. YUM!! Then we got to go to a movie!! :) We saw 'Iron Man' & it was soooo good. We then went back to Mom & Dad's to p/u the girls & head over to 2 parties. We had such a great time & the girls behaved so well. Then, back to my parents to BBQ & watch the fireworks. We're so lucky to have such great friends & family to celebrate the holiday with. Here's some pics:

I got lucky finding these outfits @ a Twin Sale. Think I only paid $3 each!

Check out the difference in hair color!! lol

As U2 would say... "It's a Beautiful Day"

A busy day, but most definitely beautiful. I'm still cancer-free & my daughter is off her monitor. I'm so happy. Mom & I took both girls to CHOC & were shocked (and thrilled) to see that Siena went from being 8 lbs. 7 oz. two weeks ago to 9 LBS. 12 OUNCES!! We had the nurse weigh her again to make sure it was right. And then the Nutritionist that met with us was a little shocked too! In just 2 months, that girl has gone from looking like a sick little bird to a chunky monkey!!! Too cute.
Yeah! No more wires attached to me!!

After her appt., we went to Main Place Mall, had a nice lunch & even got to shop a bit @ Nordstrom where I found a potential 20 Year Reunion dress!! (20 years? Holy &%$#!) Then we went to their 2 month Pediatrician appt. & Sara weighs the exact same but is an inch longer. And then there were the shots. They each got 2 in each leg. It was sooooo hard to watch. They each cried cries I've never heard before & it broke mine & Grandma's hearts.

Pre nasty shots (and right before Sara bonked her in the face! lol)

Oh! Another bit of great news? The Nutritionist told us we can push their night feedings to 8 HOURS!!! (That is, if the girls comply.) It's been so hard to wake sleeping babies. Let's hope they continue to be good, long sleepers like their Mommy & Daddy were!! haha
