Our Lovely Anniversary "Stay-cation"

We were lucky enough to have a mini-vacation right in our own backyard. My dear friend Jennifer works at a timeshare/hotel in gorgeous San Clemente & offered us her quarterly perk of staying their for 4 nights for only $50!!! Even sweeter, she paid 1/2 for our anniversary present.

This was the 1st time we've taken the girls to a hotel & even tho Jeff had to work (Sat. too! :-( ), we were still excited to have some fun. We got there around lunchtime & after Jen gave us a tour, the girls LOVED when she bought them drumsticks for a treat. (Me too!) When Daddy got 'home' from work, we all went to pizza.

We were curious how it was going to go stayting at a hotel. We gave the girls the queen in the bedroom & Jeff & I took the 2 twin Murphy beds in the living room. Well, the 1st night was not pretty. Siena had such a cough that it was making her throw up & hysterical. After playing "musical beds", we were this close to coming home but we finally started to get some sleep after 1am. Then, around 4, we heard a loud thump & the poor baby fell out of bed!!! Fort., it barely woke her up. Friday am, Jeff had to go to work (exhausted) & I took the girls to the park.

I took Siena to the Dr., and she sounded like everyone else in the office! Unfortunately, she was too young for any kind of medication, but she did much better that night. We had dinner in and relaxed.

On Saturday, Grandma & Papa came down & we all had breakfast in the hotel diner, then walked down to the beach. We sooo lucked out as far as weather. It was a gorgeous, sunny 75 degrees. (Kinda like our wedding day 7 years ago.)

After the beach, I brought the girls back home where Unca & Jen watched them so Jeff & I could celebrate our anniversary. :-) Jeff got off work with enough time to go for a run on the beach, which he loves to do. We went to a wine bar downtown & got a fabulous glass of wine, then headed tio Nick's. Nick's is our favorite restaurant in Laguna & they opened a new location here & it was even better! We had a nice leisurely dinner, a great bottle of wine & delicious food. Despite thinking we were gonna 'whoop it up', we ended up back at the hotel to watch tv & crashed by 10:30! lol

I'm soooo lucky to be married to Jeff. Here's just a few reasons why:

  • He works SO hard for us. Leaves around 7:15 am & most nights doesn't get home til 6:30/7. I'm so proud of him that the week before X-Mas, his boss quit & he was immediately offered her job.
  • The girls ADORE him. One of my favorite times of day is when the girls hear his keys in the door & they both go screaming "Daddy!!" I always knew he'd be a great Dad, but he's just incredible. Those are some lucky girls.....
  • He has such incredible patience. Boy, do I wish he could rub some off on me
  • He's the only male in the house. Need I say more?!
  • He loves to travel as much as I do. His busy season is over at the end of April, so May 5th we leave for 1 night in New York & a 5 day cruise to Bermuda!! We're celebrating him turning 40 this year & our being together for 10 years this July!!! We're counting the days..... I love you Baby!

Aaaaaw, you guys look so cute together! :-) Love the one with you on the beach. Haha, Siena waving at the camera. And the ones of S&S individually at the round thingy (can't see what it is), wow, they deserve framing!

Love from a much much colder and rainy Holland (about 40 degrees, brrrrr)
