Our Winter Wonderland

Finally..... Been a busy couple months (With 2 almost 3 year olds?? Nooo!). We had our 3rd Annual Family Vacation in beautiful Lake Arrowhead. After a bit or worrying about the weather, we had PERFECT weather. When we got there, not one snowflake... anywhere. When we left.... about 2 1/2 feet. We had the best time, as always.

The G's
Dad, Scott & I went for a walk & the blizzard began. It was soooo fun!

Jeff & I went on a gorgeous walk.

So much fun in the snow!

Our Lovely Anniversary "Stay-cation"

We were lucky enough to have a mini-vacation right in our own backyard. My dear friend Jennifer works at a timeshare/hotel in gorgeous San Clemente & offered us her quarterly perk of staying their for 4 nights for only $50!!! Even sweeter, she paid 1/2 for our anniversary present.

This was the 1st time we've taken the girls to a hotel & even tho Jeff had to work (Sat. too! :-( ), we were still excited to have some fun. We got there around lunchtime & after Jen gave us a tour, the girls LOVED when she bought them drumsticks for a treat. (Me too!) When Daddy got 'home' from work, we all went to pizza.

We were curious how it was going to go stayting at a hotel. We gave the girls the queen in the bedroom & Jeff & I took the 2 twin Murphy beds in the living room. Well, the 1st night was not pretty. Siena had such a cough that it was making her throw up & hysterical. After playing "musical beds", we were this close to coming home but we finally started to get some sleep after 1am. Then, around 4, we heard a loud thump & the poor baby fell out of bed!!! Fort., it barely woke her up. Friday am, Jeff had to go to work (exhausted) & I took the girls to the park.

I took Siena to the Dr., and she sounded like everyone else in the office! Unfortunately, she was too young for any kind of medication, but she did much better that night. We had dinner in and relaxed.

On Saturday, Grandma & Papa came down & we all had breakfast in the hotel diner, then walked down to the beach. We sooo lucked out as far as weather. It was a gorgeous, sunny 75 degrees. (Kinda like our wedding day 7 years ago.)

After the beach, I brought the girls back home where Unca & Jen watched them so Jeff & I could celebrate our anniversary. :-) Jeff got off work with enough time to go for a run on the beach, which he loves to do. We went to a wine bar downtown & got a fabulous glass of wine, then headed tio Nick's. Nick's is our favorite restaurant in Laguna & they opened a new location here & it was even better! We had a nice leisurely dinner, a great bottle of wine & delicious food. Despite thinking we were gonna 'whoop it up', we ended up back at the hotel to watch tv & crashed by 10:30! lol

I'm soooo lucky to be married to Jeff. Here's just a few reasons why:

  • He works SO hard for us. Leaves around 7:15 am & most nights doesn't get home til 6:30/7. I'm so proud of him that the week before X-Mas, his boss quit & he was immediately offered her job.
  • The girls ADORE him. One of my favorite times of day is when the girls hear his keys in the door & they both go screaming "Daddy!!" I always knew he'd be a great Dad, but he's just incredible. Those are some lucky girls.....
  • He has such incredible patience. Boy, do I wish he could rub some off on me
  • He's the only male in the house. Need I say more?!
  • He loves to travel as much as I do. His busy season is over at the end of April, so May 5th we leave for 1 night in New York & a 5 day cruise to Bermuda!! We're celebrating him turning 40 this year & our being together for 10 years this July!!! We're counting the days..... I love you Baby!

Better Late Than Never.....

I'm FINALLY posting pics from Christmas-time.

It was SUCH a special, fun time. Seeing Christmas through the girls' eyes was soooo much fun! It was a wonderful couple of days with great weather (as usual), tho a bit chilly on our annual walk. We are so blessed that we're able to have both of our families together.

Siena gazing lovingly @ her gingerbread house. (I'm SURE she wanted to eat the whole thing!)

Aunt Cherie teaching Siena how to "Shhhh".

Christmas-time Fun!

So, Grandma bought the girls too-cute pajamas for Christmas. Take notice of how she put their names on them. Sara's is perfectly straight across, indicitive of how she plays & how her mind works. Siena's is all over the place, which is SO her!! lol Here's just a few pics of our photo session. Always trying to get the perfect pic!! (You'd think I'd have given up by now. hee hee)

Then, after me begging, bribbing, etc... they'd had enough!!!!! Think the one below is the perfect one?? LOL

This season has been so fun. Although they don't really "get" what's going on, they LOVE it! We've driven around at least 20 times looking at X-Mas lights. All I hear is "More lights, Mommy", "Santa Claus!!!!", "Candy Cans!!", etc... I can't wait til Christmas morning. :-)

We also went to pick out our Christmas tree. I just LOVE the smell of the trees. It puts me into the Christmas spirit immediately. So does all the Christmas music, which I love, except that it starts playing at Thanksgiving time!! Siena loves listening to it & singing along- see below video. Here's the pics of our tree-finding adventure.

"Hmmm. What tree do we like?" (Is that hair difference hysterical?)

She looks so cute, I just had to post.

Daddy & his girls

I just love their little voices. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpK4waMjz5Q

Memories.....

So, Sara was playing with her twin babies one night... feeding them, putting them to bed, etc... When I saw how she put them to bed, it brought back such memories!!
So proud of herself
Here's how she put the babies to bed & it reminded me SO much of them when they were 1st home from the hospital.

My little peanuts

Jeff & I went to his friend's amazing wedding up in L.A. & we had an entire 24 hours to ourselves!! :-)

Siena wanted to wear my hat when we were out shopping. This girl loves her "high heels", "pretty dresses" and anything "so cute". (I love it!!) I think she looks like a little Parisian girl. Adorable.

No More Paci's!!!!!!

We are sooooo proud of our sweet Siena. Thanks to the fantastic idea of TK, we decided it was time to get rid of Siena's pacifiers. Her idea had worked with her daughter & they told Siena about it so we thought... Let's Do It!! We told her that the Paci Fairy was coming to pick up her paci's and was going to bring them to babies that needed them. (We also said there might be a present in their place.) We put them all in a bag, put them on the doorstep & put her to bed. We did not think it would go well cuz she was pretty dependant on them to sleep, but we were wrong! She did soooo good! When we woke up in the morning, she ran to the front door and saw her bag with a present in it but the Paci's were gone! Inside was 'Beauty & the Beast' video. She was sooo excited.
Here's Daddy telling her how proud of her he is.

Here she is showing off her new movie.

Here's a couple more pics from the month.....
